Winter for fire signs like me can be in a word, hell. No pun intended ! Seriously, winter is the cold time. For those of us who are of the Pagan persuasion, or just flat out Witches like yours truly, winter is a time for us to reflect and pause. Or, if you are me, regenerate. Yes, literally go through a rebirth process. Since I am all Aries, I work primally with fire as my main element. The winter months is when I consume myself and await rebirth in spring. Just like the phoenix that consumes itself in flames and is reborn from the ashes, this is my rebirth period. This is where I go and learn new things, work with my Ancestors, get my altars ship-shape and just enjoy the down time.

I like to be a busy Witch during the winter months even when I am not burning as brightly. The winter is the slow time that we all need to use to branch out. I don’t mind the long cold nights because you can find me reading or working on my BOS. This when I go over my rituals and work them into some thing new.

Regeneration is rebirth. We can’t grow without it. As a Witch I like to grow and learn. That is what winter is for me.

I usually dread the holidaze. When you have worked retail you come to hate them because you see the absolute worst in people. The holidaze don’t mean what they use to. I remember when I was younger I use to think there was magic all over the place when the holidaze came around.

Then I became a “groan”-up and realized the holidaze where more about what you get than what you give.

So, this year, I am going to be different. Seriously. Thanks to my Cosmic Hooker I have a different outlook. There are new possibilities happening if I just jump in feet first and drown.

More on that later, back to my making the holidaze more meaningful.

I’ve decided that the gifts I give will mean some thing to the person I give it to. I hate stores during this time of year so I will be doing my shopping online. I would rather give one special gift that a bunch of meaningless ones. For instance, I am adopting a wolf for my sister because she loves wolves. My oldest daughter wants to adopt a star and my youngest wants to adopt a moose. Yes, a moose. And I will happily oblige them !

Yup, my holidaze are going to be special. Because I am going to make them special, not just for me but those I love and care about.

So this is my first official post at my new spot. I have to admit this new space is going to take some getting use to. My old blog spot was Xanga, but I needed a change. I think it’s time to stretch out and explore. I am ready to spread my wings !
